In the summer of 2005, Bao Nguyen, S.J, still a Jesuit scholastic, came back to Vietnam six years after arriving in the United States. Vietnam was a very poor country back in 2005. Its population was very young but high education capacity was so limited; many were left without a chance to develop themselves more fully academically. However Vietnam was so rich in vocations. What if they had opportunities in college? What if the young religious had professional training? That thought stayed with him; that thought was the seed to an organization that became known as FSVN. Now it provides a comprehensive service from vetting candidates, finding R&B acccommodations while mastering English, and finding scholarship at various universities. FSVN is currently provides supports for over 200 religious persons pursuing college degrees in the United States, from bachelor to doctor of philosophy in many majors. God indeed has a plan and seeks out people to work with Christ.
